Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn is a thriller novel that revolves around the life of journalist Camille Preaker, who returns to her hometown, Wind Gap, Missouri, to cover the death of two girls.

The murders Camille is reporting on are a laceration on the small town of Wind Gap, Missouri.
The mysterious and terrifying incidents in Wind Gap cut deep into the consciousness of the town,
and the gash is an unsightly, uncontrollable mess once it opens up.
