Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn is a thriller novel that revolves around the life of journalist Camille Preaker, who returns to her hometown, Wind Gap, Missouri, to cover the death of two girls.
This project was inspired by the Dada Art movement and the term laceration. The main character, Camille, cuts words into her skin with sharp objects, and the murders are a kind of laceration on the small town.
